On 2 September 2026, CST welcomed students and parents back to campus for the opening of the 2026–2027 academic year, bringing the community together for a morning that celebrated where the school stands today, welcomed new leadership, and set the direction for the year ahead.
The occasion came just one day after Uzbekistan’s Independence Day, giving the CST community an opportunity to honour the country we call home and to celebrate its history, culture, and aspirations.

The gathering also marked an important moment for CST as a growing K–12 Canadian school. The leadership team shared the priorities and ambitions for the year ahead, with a clear focus on academic excellence, student development, strong teaching, and an experience worthy of the trust placed in the school by its families.
CST’s leadership also welcomed Mr. Roch-Alain Poirier, appointed Principal of the Nova Scotia High School Program. His arrival strengthens CST’s academic leadership as the school continues to develop its Canadian educational offering and raise the bar for international education in Tashkent.
The weeks before the first bell.
Behind the first day were weeks of preparation. Our teachers returned to campus not simply to begin teaching, but to prepare thoughtfully for the students they would welcome. Classrooms were organized, curriculum and lesson plans reviewed, and professional development sessions completed as the teachers readied themselves for a new year of learning.
To our teachers and teaching assistants, thank you. The care that goes into preparing a classroom is rarely visible to students and parents, but it shapes their experience every day. Your professionalism, preparation, and commitment to continuous learning are central to the standard we are building at CST.
